This is a study of 53 patients who underwent arthroscopy for a repair of a complete rotator cuff tear. The patients were randomly divided into 2 groups, one who received an intraoperative application of PRP and the other who did not. The results of the study showed that autologous PRP reduced pain in the first postoperative months, with long term positive effect in healing.
